First YouTube Poem

Today is the day that I share the video from the park of me reciting my poem, “L.W.B. (Living While Black)”.

The poem was inspired by the Mike Brown situation and the many injustices that African-Americans face from day-to-day. It also covers how we as a people aid in the stereotypes forged upon us by misinformation and ignorance.

The video itself was recorded by a friend and producer, Hit Mann. It needed no editing, aside from the beginning and end, which made me super proud.

Those of you that have followed me from the beginning know that public speaking is something I fear due to a past experience. However, the best way to get over your fears is to put yourself back in the driver’s seat.

So, here goes. I hope you all enjoy!
